Grand Opening of the new Alger Grade single track on Minnesota’s North Shore.
Who: Wild Country ATV Club.
What: The grand opening of the new 14 mile single-track trail built in Lake County MN. Weather permitting, the new trail is expected to be open in June 2022. The trail is technical with hills, off cambers, drops, step ups and even a short hard-enduro section. There are easier/harder splits (we call them blue and black sections) so it is accessible to all. This is a MN Grant-in-aid trail so OHM stickers are required.
Where: North from Two Harbors on Lake Co. Hwy 2 for 8+ miles to E. Alger Grade. Turn right. Park in the CJ Ramstad Parking lot. Limited Primitive camping is available in the CJ Ramstad parking lot if required.
When: June 24th – 26th, 2022. Friday will be a meet and greet for everyone that had a hand in building the trail system, but the trails will be open for riding. On Saturday there will be a pancake breakfast followed by a group ride at 10 am if riders new to the Alger Grade OHM trail would like to get familiar with the trail system with someone familiar with it. Around 1 pm we will be grilling up some food for lunch. Sunday will be open riding.
Cost: Free!
There may be additional plans as the Grand Opening nears. If you would like more information just search for the private Facebook group “Alger Grade Single Track Builders Group” and request membership. There is a trail map on the FB group (Avenza app store as well). There will be an event page that will have the most up to date information. There may even be someone that is already in the group that you know! You can also reach out to jleusman@hotmail.com with any questions.
If you would like to see the trail before you ride it, searching “Alger Grade” on YouTube will bring up many videos from Bjork Offroad and others during various stages of the building process.
We hope to see you there!
