Spring Flood Run April 16th - Road Ride

The Flood Run is a biannual run which raises money for Gillette Specialty Healthcare.  The events take place the third Saturdays of April and September.  The 2022 dates are April 16th and September 17th.

The Run goes through the North Star Riders (NSR), a group of motorcycle riders who work at Polaris Industries or Indian Motorcycle, and is managed by a long time D23/ARMCA member.  The NSR joined the AMA and District 23/ARMCA in 2018.  Since that time the amount raised for the kids and families at who receive treatment at Gillette has more than doubled.  Last year, the combined annual Run total was over $66,000.

This year, Gillette turns 125 years.  This is also the 5th year the Run will go through the North Star Riders.  In consideration of the milestones, the goal is to raise $100,000 for Gillette this year.  Wristbands for the event are $10.

The historic loop of 218 miles is from Lake St Croix Beach down to Winona, across the bridge to Wisconsin, back up to Prescott, then back to Lake St Croix Beach.  The Gold Star ride is for the people who can ride the entire route in the day.  Participants pay an extra $20 (plus the wristband) and pick up a card which is stamped at various places along the route.  The card is turned in at the end of the day and participants receive a special Gold Star Flood Run pin.  This pin can not be purchased, only earned.  There is an option to pick up the card in the southern part of the route in Maiden Rock, WI.

This year, there is also a sport bike route which gives a few more turns than the normal route.  This route can be purchased for the wristband plus $5.  Riders can pick up the route sheet and map from the Run start in Lake St Croix Beach.  Ride the route on the day of the run or save it for another day.

Come and support the Flood Run and Gillette Children’s specialty.  Pick up a wristband and some Flood Run merchandise.  Because of the generosity of Polaris Foundation and Indian Motorcycle, 100% of all funds collected go directly to Gillette.
