Day 1 been a D23 Member since my first Hillclimb in 2003
What is the greatest accomplishment of your riding/racing career?
Winning the D23 King of the Hill Championship four times
What are your goals for 2023? Beyond?
2023 will be my first full season of American Hillclimb East. Hoping to get a few wins in the 450 and twins class and compete for a championship in them two classes.
Beyond is just help Hillclimb grow. Either Amateur or Pro the sport is just too cool to stagnate!
Why do you continue to race in D23 ARMCA?
D23 is not just home, it is by far the most competitive amateur Hillclimb scene. If you can win in D23 you can win anywhere.
Who inspires you in racing?
Racing Open bikes. Riding dirt bikes with 120-150 HP is one of most fun on two wheels.
How has motorcycling impacted your life?
It’s everything. The countless great family memories over the years traveling and all the amazing friends we’ve met along the way has shaped my life to what it is today.
What is your favorite food to eat on race day?
I don’t really eat much during the race, but getting some DQ ice cream on the way home is always clutch.
How do you get pumped up to ride/race? Music? Pep talks? Maybe quiet time is more your style?
Typically just prep bikes and walk the hill before the race. I like to observe others rides to find the best line.
What else do you like to do for fun?
Bass fishing. If I’m not riding or racing. I want to be fishing.
What advice has a fellow rider/racer given you that you follow?
Trust yourself and your abilities. The biggest battle is fighting your own self doubt. Get past that and you’ll get your best results.
What advice do you have for other D23 ARMCA members?
Join a club or help a promoter. The races won’t happen without them!
