Member of the Week: Rourke Hansen
Written By: Jackie Riess
Rourke Hansen received his first dirt bike, a KTM SX-E5, last fall, and began racing motocross in D23 ARMCA this spring. He now competes in the EBike 4-6 class, and has quite a few podium finishes so far this season. Motocross has taught Rourke how to be brave, strong, and persistent, which help him to achieve his goals within the sport. In the future, he wants to continue trying his hardest, regardless of results, make new friends, and someday take a trip to a formal training facility.
Rourke and his parents enjoy the friendships they’ve made so far in D23 ARMCA, and enjoy the family friendly sport that has gotten both he and his father on the track. Fueled by peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, crust cut off of course, Sour Patch Kids, and pep talks from dad, Rourke is always excited to hit the track in order to build strength in his persistent and competitive qualities. In addition to motocross, Rourke enjoys hockey, competitive gymnastics, and the many animals that call his family’s hobby farm home.
Rourke advises other D23 ARMCA members to go full throttle, finish every race, and know that others will be proud of you for doing your best.
