Hannah Oakes began her motorcycling career on a CRF50 in her family’s yard. From there she began competing in local fair races, and then found D23 ARMCA motocross racing. She was hooked from there, and has achieved many goals along the way. Hannah has competed in the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross National in 2019, 2021, and 2022 in the Girls’ class. She is proud of this, and especially proud to have won her regional this year. Though she doesn’t set results-based goals for her time at The Ranch, she does set goals more specific to her personal riding. Hannah also strives to finish her final year in the Girls’ class strong by wrapping up the D23 ARMCA motocross championship.

Though Hannah has accomplished great success on the track, it’s the people that keep her coming back to the races. The relationships she’s formed within the motocross community have centered around love, respect, and support, something unique to her experiences in D23 ARMCA. Hannah is inspired by other great female racers like Linkin Sarauer, and fuels her race day with bacon and quiet time. Once on the track, she practices patience, and is reminded of this by her father before each gate drop. In addition to riding and racing, Hannah is also a competitive, and highly decorated, dancer. Though she continues to train in dance throughout the summer, a busy winter competition season balances nicely with her motocross schedule. Hannah encourages other D23 ARMCA members to connect with people in the community, practice patience, and apply lessons learned through motocross broadly, not just in the sport.
