Member of the Week: Stone Petta
Written By: Jackie Riess
Stone Petta learned how to ride a dirt bike at the age of 3. He continued riding for many years, and began competing in District 23 ARMCA at the age of 10. Stone now competes in the 250B class in hare scrambles and the C classes in motocross. One of his proudest moments was his first race win in the peewee class at the 2018 Hi-Winders Millville hare scramble. In 2022, Stone is shifting his focus towards motocross and strives to improve his skills throughout the year. Though his family is moving to California this summer, we are proud to have Stone with us for the beginning of the season.
Stone is inspired and encouraged by his father because of the relationship they have developed over years of motorcycling. He values his father’s support, and tries his hardest on the track to make him proud. In addition to this relationship, motorcycling has brought unmeasurable fun to his life, something he chooses to focus on before heading out on the track. In the winter, Stone enjoys skiing, especially in the terrain park. And the perfect end to a day of either sport is grilling burgers with his dad.
Once advised by his dad to “focus on what he can control,” Stone has learned to focus on himself and use his thoughts to his advantage. Passing on a word of advice, he encourages other D23 ARMCA members to “do what makes them happy.” Stone is grateful and thankful for all involved in D23 ARMCA.
