Member of the Week: Morgan Voight

In the fall of 2016, Morgan Voight began riding recreationally on a CRF100. In 2017, she began riding on a private motocross track, where she soon moved up to the CRF150. Then in 2018, she made her way to her first District 23 ARMCA track; Berm Benders Raceway. After attending practice sessions at BBR, she decided to compete in her first race later that summer. In her first race of the season she crashed in breaking bumps and tore her ACL. After having surgery, she rehabilitated her knee and practiced indoors at Cedar Lake Arena over the winter. Morgan now competes in the Women’s 12+, Girls 12-16, and Supermini motocross classes, and has steadily progressed as a rider and racer over the past few years.

In 2020, she and her family dedicated themselves to racing motocross. She finished 2nd overall in Girls 12-16 and 3rd overall in Women’s 12+ in District 23 ARMCA. And though her on track results are impressive, she believes her greatest accomplishment was clearing her first double. This gave her confidence in her riding in order to take her skills to the next level. Racing has not only given her more confidence on the bike, she has also overcome shyness through involvement in the motocross community.

Inspired by her father’s racing career, she sports his original number on the track; 403. She enjoys beef sticks, fruit, and even the occasional dill pickle chip in her belly. In addition to riding and racing, Morgan enjoys helping with their cows, hanging out at the pool, having fun with friends, and participating in multiple bands at her high school.

Morgan continues to race in District 23 ARMCA because of the tremendous fun and competition she finds at the motocross tracks. She strives to finish in the top 5 of District 23 ARMCA motocross points this year, and has goals of self improvement on the motorcycle. Morgan advises other racers to “never give up, keep pushing, and race til the checkered flag!”
