Trisha Dahl is truly #ProudtobeD23, as she competes in flat track racing, and goes above and beyond to volunteer as a flat track representative on the District 23 ARMCA board. In addition to racing flat track, she competes in road racing, and enjoys road riding in general. After purchasing her first bike, a 1988 Yamaha FZR400, at 23 years old. She soon became involved with District 23 ARMCA and joined in 2016 after watching her first flat track race at the Cambridge TT. Inspired by her father’s “never stop dreaming” attitude, she plans to continue competing in both flat track and road racing in Minnesota for years to come.
Trisha’s greatest flat track accomplishment was competing at Flat Out Friday in Milwaukee, one of the largest flat track races of the summer. She is also proud to have been selected for the Royal Enfield “Build. Train. Race.” program, where she has customized her road race bike all on her own! With initial goals of winning at Brainerd International Raceway, she was able to come away with a podium finish this past July. In 2022, she hopes to visit new tracks on both the dirt and the pavement.
Motorcycling has given Trisha a sense of purpose in life, and has helped her grow both personally and professionally. Eight years ago when she decided she wanted to ride a motorcycle, she had no idea it would bring her to her husband, her best friends, and her dreams of racing for a manufacturer. The community in District 23 ARMCA is stronger than she imagined, and she enjoys sharing her love for motorcycles with others. In addition to riding and racing, Trisha enjoys van camping at the track, mountain biking, and eating ice cream (who doesn’t honestly?).
Once given the advice to “make sure you’re always having fun,” Trisha encourages other District 23 ARMCA members to challenge themselves and conquer their fears. Doing so helped her find a piece of herself that she never knew existed. She wants this experience for others, and hopes her story can inspire people to take the first step. Trisha also encourages other members to try different disciplines within District 23 ARMCA, as you get to meet new people and develop new skills on the motorcycle. “Life is wild,” she explains, and too short for doing anything other than what makes you happy.
