A bill was introduced on Feb 26 by a Minneapolis Legislator which would require the MN DNR to turn over all State Lands within the borders of the White Earth Indian Reservation to the White Earth tribe, with the exception of school trust land and tax-forfeit land. The tax-forfeit land that will be sold, must be offered to the White Earth tribe for first refusal before being offered for sale to anyone else. The MN DNR does not support this bill.
